Last year, our diocese held our first diocesan-wide Synodal Summit at St. Ambrose University, starting a year-long focus on welcoming and belonging.
This year, the diocese will gather again to commence our second year in our synodal process, focusing on youth and family engagement. Therefore, a diocesan-wide Synodal Summit will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at St. Patrick Church in Iowa City.
This is where we are hoping you can help! Our diocese has asked for representatives from our parish families of St. Mary and St. Patrick to participate in this phase of the Synodal process.
Our diocese is asking for individuals/couples who may be…
- A parent or grandparent who is passionate about ministry to families and young people
- Someone who relates to and understands youth well
- Have an interest engaging families and young people in our parishes
Over the course of the next year, representatives will work with our parishes to identify areas of need regarding ministry to families and youth, and develop a action plan to address those needs and planning a deanery-wide event.
This will be accomplished by…
- Taking part in ONE diocese-wide Zoom meeting, followed by holding a team meeting using resources from that Zoom diocesan meet-up.
- Participating in the June 22nd Synodal Summit at St. Patrick Church in Iowa City
- Take part in regular check-in and formation meetings via Zoom and check-in meetings with Fr. Scott and our Parish Councils.
Please prayerfully consider volunteering to be a representative for St. Patrick & St. Mary.
We really do need your help, insight and talent!
