Welcoming and Belonging Synod Update

Our very own Jenny Bos attended a series of diocesan meetings as a representative of St. Patrick to address how parishes can be more welcoming.

As Jenny shares, β€œThe focus of the meeting wasn't about creating another committee, but changing the culture of our parishes. It is something everyone can and should do naturally. If you see someone new, say "hi", introduce yourself and get to know them. If someone has been missing from mass, reach out to them. Get to know our youth and get them involved. Our church family is an extension of our own families. In addition, there has been a lot of changes in the divorce process and many misunderstandings. The Catholic Messenger has published many articles recently to help clarify the process. Reach out to those who have fallen from the faith because of divorce. Invite them back and to speak with Father about their situation.”
